Cheese Please

I LOVE cheese. It just might be the one item of food I could eat everyday all day! I don't drink milk so I count my cheese in take as my extra daily dose of calcium. Why do I bring this up you might ask. Really no reason, it is just what I was thinking about today. ALSO because Walmart started carrying my favorite type of cheese again. Smoked Swiss, YUM YUM. Yes they always carried it but you had to get it at the deli, now they are back to just having small blocks of it that you can grab and go.

Here are a few fun facts that I have learned over the years of my love for cheese:
1. There are over 2,000 varieties of cheeses!!! Most of them I love but I really am not a fan of stinky cheese. Even though I giggle every time I say stinky cheese.

2 The #1 cheese recipe in America is Macaroni and CHEESE. That should be no surprise.

3. The terms "Big Wheel" and "Big Cheese" originally referred to those who were wealthy enough to purchase a whole wheel of cheese. This picture is of me with a WHOLE wheel of cheese but I did not purchase it because I am not a "Big Cheese"

4. A giant wheel of Cheddar was given to Queen Victoria for a wedding gift. It weighed over 1,000 pounds. I put this so the few people that read my blog would know that I would not mind a giant wheel of Smoked Swiss Cheese for a wedding gift. NOT one weighing in at 1,000 pounds please!

5. There is such a thing as moose cheese. It is made in Sweden from the milk of a moose. How would you like to try and milk a moose?!?!?!

And I now live you with some GREAT CHEESE QUOTES:

"Worry is today's mice nibbling on tomorrow's cheese."

"Age is not important unless you're a cheese." Helen Hayes

"For centuries, people thought the moon was made of green cheese. Then the astronauts found that the moon is really a big hard rock. That's what happens to cheese when you leave it out."

"Nothing says holidays, like a cheese log." Ellen DeGeneres

SO folks go out and get you some cheese today!!!!!

This is a Public Service Announcement

Public Service Announcements seem to have become a thing of the past. Yes NBC still does The More You Know. But they just don't seem to really get to me like the ones in the 80's. PSAs in the 80s had our favorite cartoon characters. Or the had a really catchy tune that you just could not get out of your find.

Like the Woodsy Team, I went around singing Give a Hoot, Don't Pollute all the time. And when I saw someone pollute I would start singing it really loud so they could hear me.

And how can we forget all the GI JOE PSAs!!! GI JOE PSAs really made you stop and think. They had some about getting your eyes checked to don't talk to strangers. And they always ended with the saying "Knowing is half the battle!" (Quick side note, in the new GI JOE movie they said the, knowing is half the battle line and I laughed so HARD!)

Let us not forget the Bugs Bunny Kitchen dangers PSA. I learned a lot about not touching the hot boiling pan, or the scary electric cord that could hurt me. The electric cord safety really got to me because it make the cord look like a snake on the PSA and I am scared of snakes. So for the longest time I would not touch any cords!

There was also the Right to Say No PSA. It was a very catching song about Being an Original and taking a stand when a friend offers you drugs. Because we all do have the RIGHT TO SAY NO! It was this cool music video with this girl skateboarding around and had a GREAT SONG!

And the other good NO Drugs PSA is the guy with the egg. And he shows you the egg and says this is your brain. Then he cracks the egg and puts it in a frying pan and says this is your brain on drugs, any questions?

I guess what I am getting to is that no wonder our kids are so messed up these days. They do not have good PSAs to help push them to do the right thing. Whenever I think of polluting or talking to strangers. I first think of my those PSA and sit and wonder what would GI JOE do or Woodsy the Owl. Then I know what I should do and I do the right thing.

Bring back the PSAs TV folks. I really feel that it just might help make a better tomorrow.

Top of the Morning to you!!!!!!

Oh Ireland~
Are you really ready for this Red Head from Texas?!?!? Not sure if anyone in Ireland reads this but just a fair warning I will be driving while I am over there. So keep all your cows and sheep's off the roads folk!!!!

Any way folks I leave tomorrow morning. SO excited, bet I don't sleep much tonight. I have been packed for two days, does that make me strange? We will be seeing U2 in concert while we are over there. SWEET, in their own back yard!!!! It will also only be around 65 degrees everyday. Very very nice!!!!

I will miss everyone, but I shall return. Unless I find a man to marry then I might not return. BUT that would mean that the wedding would probably be in Ireland SO everyone can come over then.

I might throw up some short blogs while I am there. Mostly pictures, I will save all the stories for when I get back.

On a side note. I just got the Oregan Trail app on my IPod Touch. OH yea stayed up two hours playing it last night. THAT GAME IS THE BOMB!!!!! Sorry Caydee you were died from a snake bite.

Everyone stay safe and cool here in the states. I promise some good blogs when I get back!!!!!
